I mbliana mar chuid den seachtain Spóirt na hEorapa, a ritheann ó 22ú – 30ú Mean Fómhair moltar do scoileanna ‘Dúshlan Turas na hEorapa’ a thriail. Is feachtas fiúntach tras – churaclaim é seo a mheallann daltaí a bheith gníomhach. Beidh ár scoil ag glacadh páirt ann agus tá cead ag na daltaí an culaith spóirt scoile a chaitheamh gach lá le linn na seachtaine Roinnfimid an scoil ina dhá chuid, bun ranganna agus ard ranganna agus ag am sosa is lóin beidh an dá bhuíon ag siúl/ag rith timpeall raon beag a dhearfaimid ar scoil. Beidh gach timpeallán den raon ag seasamh do 1km agus i ngach rang beidh léarscáil na hEorapa leis na príomhchathracha air. Leanfaidh na daltaí an cosán a roghnaíonn said féin, timpeall na mór roinne. Beidh foghlaim ghníomhach tíreolaíochta i gceist leis.

This year as part of European Week of Sport (September 22nd – 30th), schools are being encouraged to participate in the ‘Tour of EUROPE Challenge’. This initiative offers excellent cross-curricular benefits and can be used throughout the school. The Tour of EUROPE challenge is a great way to ‘Kick –start’ an active year. Our school will be participating in this programme and for the duration of the week pupils will be allowed to wear their tracksuit each day. We will divide the pupils into two groups, junior and senior, with the four junior classes walking/running a simple “track” at sos and the senior classes completing a similar task at lón. Each complete round of the track will represent 1km on the map. Each class will have a map of Europe, containing the land mark sights of Europe, in their classroom where they can decide their journey through the continent. A great link to geography and maths activities in class.
